About the Learning Community:
The NY Alliance has created an AI Learning Community that will provide resources, educational opportunities, and access to an exclusive community of providers exploring safe and innovative best practices utilizing AI.
- Provider Education & Engagement – including tools and resources in development by the NY Alliance to educate frontline staff, leadership, and boards on AI use, opportunities, and safeguards.
- Training and Competency Development – to support providers in successfully engaging their workforce in appropriate use of AI.
- Risk Assessment & Compliance – drawing from NY Alliance’s previous risk assessment resources, this will provide a framework to address AI governance and risk mitigation.
- Vendor Collaboration – tools to help providers engage vendors, which happen to also be applicable to AI integration, compliance, and transparency.
Subscription to the Learning Community includes unlimited access for all organization staff to the resources outlined below, and those that will be developed based upon participant input and guidance:
AI Organizational Self-Assessment – Access to the AI Organizational Self-Assessment (OSA), analysis of results individualized to organization (Note: no charge to NY Alliance members, as this is available as part of their annual membership dues). Not only does the OSA provide an opportunity for organizations to explore all of the various aspects of AI they need to take into consideration, but completing the OSA will provide a baseline for that organization, from which advancement and maturity in AI capacity can be measured. Organizations participating in the AI Learning Community will be asked to complete the OSA at intervals, to track advancement and maturity, and to identify future needs the NY Alliance can seek to fulfill.
Access to archived webinars and materials(Note: no charge to NY Alliance members, as this is available as part of NY Alliance membership).
Micro-Webinar Series– Invitations to attend live micro-webinar series and access their recordings. 12 micro-webinars (15–25 minutes each) have been identified, with additional topics to be identified based on input and guidance from Community of Practice participants:
Module 1: Understanding and Communicating AI
Module 2: AI Training & Workforce Development
Module 3: Risk, Ethics & Oversight
Module 4: Vendor Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
Tools and Resources – Accompanying the micro-webinars will be a number of tools and resources to assist agencies with implementing AI policies and procedures, evaluating risk, training staff, communicating with important stakeholders, and complying with regulations. As of the date of launch, the following materials have been identified, with additional resources to be created based on input and guidance from Community of Practice participants:

- Regulatory Reference Sheet (ONC, CMS, DOH, OPWDD)
Community of Practice – Agencies will be invited to participate in Community of Practice discussions, where they can share experiences, learn from one another, and shape the development of additional educational opportunities and resources to be provided by the NY Alliance.
Depending on size, agencies may be asked to identify a single representative to participate in Community of Practice conversations. Community of Practice conversations will be recorded and available for other members of an agency’s AI team to view and use as a reference.

Catalogue of examples, tools and resources related to AI use, organized by provider organization function
How-to videos on use of AI for different functions within provider organizations
Catalogue of external and publicly available AI resources
